Salud H Lazarte

Inday Salud as she was fondly called by her siblings and tia Salud to many, met & married Maximino Reynes Lazarte sometime in 1946. It was an after war romance between a World War II veteran and a young woman from Naga, Cebu. According to her account, a fortune-teller predicted that she would marry a dashing young man with money. Well, it did not turn out that way but nevertheless she was contented with what she got, he was tall at 6 feet, dark and somewhat good-looking.

They produced nine (9) children in all, namely Eddie, Rene, Dodong, Boy, Eve, Jerry, Bebe, Ningning and Joeling. All were born and raised in Barangay Pari-an, Cebu City where Papa Max served as the Barangay Captain for many years (about 35 years) until his demise in 1993. Sickly and lonely Mama Salud followed him a year later. They were just 3 years shy from celebrating their golden wedding anniversary when God took them home to heaven. We miss you very much and you both will always be in our hearts forever. As of writing, May 30, 2011, there are about 30 grandchildren and great-grandchildren and still counting.
They are spread all over the globe, from Cebu, Manila, Japan, Australia, Singapore, Canada and the USA.
